In these tight financial times, professional pictures are regarded as a luxury. I have always felt very strongly that everybody should have beautiful pictures taken to cherish forever. It is adore photography s company mission to always be priced in the mid to lower range to make my services affordable for most people but to still get an excellent product and service.
Everybody who has kids knows that they are a bottomless pit of expenses. I often get asked, if there is a choice to be made to have either maternity or newborn pictures taken which is best? of course if you take one of my combination packages you save more money and I do make arrangements for payment to be split in two if necessary. if you don t want a combination package then take the lowest package for maternity, 20 pictures of your tummy should suffice, and if you want more you can always re-order after a couple of months as I keep them on file . then, with newborn, splurge! Take the highest package you can afford! I have very seldom seen parents who thought 20 pictures were enough. and newborn photography is very tricky, I have to be honest and say that pictures taken with your point-and-shoot and professional pictures cannot compare.
The best advise I can give any expectant couple is this book and pay your maternity AND newborn sessions while still in the last trimester of pregnancy. Most people underestimate the pinch and unexpected expenses that come with a newborn and most often than not i see the mum for her shoot and when baby arrives, together with maternity leave and the cut in salary, pictures take a sad back seat. The other advantage is that we will make the newborn booking for the first 2 weeks after birth so there is no chance of sleep deprivation and new-mommy anxiety stopping you from making the booking and only waking up when baby is 6 weeks old!
In conclusion, when considering having professional pictures taken, book and pay for a combination shoot in your last trimester. If you can, upgrade the newborn package, and if there is really only money for one shoot, go for the newborn one!
And from then on out, skip eating out at spur and save money for photo shoots you won't remember the steak you ate last week but you will keep your family pictures close to your heart forever!
