Dear Moms, Dads, Relatives, Educators and Business Owners!

March, I have decided is the month for doing something mad and fun. This weekend past, my husband shaved off all his hair and my kids painted their hair bright purple and orange in the spirit of Shave SA!

There are plenty of opportunities for getting out and doing something crazy with the kids. Visit the reptile expo and lounge with lizards, hop along to the fun frog walk, (let me know if the frog you kiss turns out to be a prince) or howl with laughter at Red Riding Hood and the loopy wolf. Why not ride on an old steam train? Discover the twinkling stars and learn about Jupiter and Mars. Whatever you do, make sure it is different, out of the ordinary for you and lots of fun.

Our mad month of March is not complete without celebrating 50 years of Dr. Seuss. A Dr. Seuss book is a wonderful gift as they are timeless and, if cared for, can be passed down to the next generation. They are wacky and witty and loads of fun to read out loud together. Their riotous rhymes and interesting characters will entice even the most reluctant readers. Make sure you read at least one Dr. Seuss book this month.

"Did you ever fly a kite? Did you ever walk with ten cats on your head? Did you ever milk this kind of cow? Well, we can do it. We know how. If you never did, you should. These things are fun and fun is good." Extract from One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss.

Cara Mullin
Editor

Don’t be late… you have a very important date with Alice and her friends at the Peoples Theatre. Join us down the rabbit-hole for a contemporary take on Lewis Carroll’s ‘masterpiece of the ridiculous’. Alice in Wonderland presents an enchanted topsy-turvy world where nothing is what it seems. The tale tells the story of Beauty's father, who picks a rose from the Beast's garden and gets caught. He makes a promise to send his daughter to the Beast when she is older he does, and in the end they fall in love. To add humour and great antics we have the traditional pantomime style spoilt-rotten ugly sisters, a wicked fairy Davina, her apprentice Dewdrop, and a dictatorial housekeeper Mrs Bollocks to keep you in stitches. Sir Sid Pretty face and Sir Thomas Twit are bumbling suitors who try impressing King Ben, while his younger daughter Beauty treats a rather ineffectual Father, Mr Brown with great affection. Guaranteed to entertain the whole family Beauty and the Beast is traditional pantomime at it's best and a must see
