Dear Moms, Dads, Relatives, Educators and Business Owners!
My sister met a dad the other day who it turns out went to primary school with me. When she described him to me, I remembered him as being really good looking, a nice person and most of the girls were very fond of him.
I was quite surprised to find out that he has a complex about his size. He is fanatic about working out in the gym everyday so that he will never again feel like the "weedy child" his parents used to label him as. His parents probably did not realise at the time, the profound effect they had on his self esteem by referring to him in this way.

I read an article on the internet called "My Mean Mum". I do not know who the original author is, if I did I would thank the person for the useful words. I read it whenever I feel heartsore about standing up to my children and enforcing rules and discipline. It reminds me of the goal that I am working towards as a parent, and that is to have my children grow up to be well mannered, caring and honest young adults who can function normally in our society.
