Ok, who is responsible for including KZN in the Winter season this year? Own up so we can put up a Facebook page or send an email to protest, because that seems to be how we do it these days. I was just enjoying the beautiful, warm sunny days in April and May and suddenly Winter crept up on us. My kids’ winter wardrobes are, well, non-existent really. They put on their Winter pyjamas and looked as though they were off to a shipwreck party. The legs only reached just below the knees and the arms just over the elbows. I had to quickly invest in some Winter pyjamas and some track suits for them that actually cover their ankles and wrists and some shoes other than flip flops. My kids weren't really bothered, but it made me feel like a better mom doing so. I have decided to protest against winter by staying in bed in the mornings. My cats are supporting me in my protest (well actually more like lying on top of me) and my fantastic husband has also lent his support by getting up early and making us all tea and porridge for breakfast to warm us up before doing the school run. Isn't he the best? He will definitely be getting a "World's Greatest Dad" mug with a tie for Father's Day this year. Single moms and dads, I have no idea how you cope! If you send out an email or join a Facebook group to protest against Winter, be sure to mention any Winter warmth community projects on the go that need support. East Coast Radio have a Winter Warmth campaign you can donate to online from only R30 a blanket or purchase a blanket yourself and drop it off. If you are aware of any others please let me know, I will be happy to inform all our readers. I do love snuggling up with the family and some good books in winter. We have sourced some new releases below to stock up on as well as news of new DVD's and movies. We have two great product reviews this month, so make yourself some coffee and enjoy the read. Dad’s I wish you a Happy Father’s day on 21 June and I hope you get to rough and tumble, laugh and joke with and build something interesting with the kids. Mom's capture it on video. These are moments kids won't remember when they are grown up, but they are moments that will make their memories of childhood happy ones. Mom's here is a funny video about a dad changing a nappy for the first time ever! |
