Dear Moms, Dads, Relatives, Educators and Business Owners! I went to my monthly book club meeting last night and three out of the six of us mothers either are in the process of, or are considering emigrating in the next three years. Read more about this in my blog. I have decided to ignore all the negative talk about the problems of living in our country, to take an extended leave of absence from reality and to apply for a visa to the planet where my son lives. He lives in a world where a dinosaur, a poodle and a tiger are best friends. A world where Lightning McQueen and Sweetberry (My Little Pony) race each other for fun and visit the sweet shop together. A land where rocket ships (carrots) land on soft, squishy planets (mashed potato) and islands (Pronutro porridge) surrounded by sharks (raisins) disappear into the sea (milk). He lives in a place where time stands still, where there are no clocks or deadlines and the concept of hurry or rush does not exist. His world is one where the worst part of his day was when his sister got a bigger piece of paper to draw on than he did. Oh, to live in "Carricksville" would be absolute bliss! On the subject of absolute bliss, my husband is whisking me away for a weekend at a country house in the Midlands without the kids as a treat for Valentine's and my birthday. Can you believe this will be the first time in 5 years we will be on holiday together without children? We hope to unearth the two people we were "bk" (before kids) and have a fun, responsibility free two days. Yippeee! We don't usually celebrate Valentine's Day but this year we are using it as an excuse to get away! What do you fancy as a treat for Valentine's Day? Do you think it is a day for the whole family to celebrate love or is it just a commercial hype for young lover's? Email us your comments and what you would like as a treat. I wish you a happy and hot (yay, finally summer decided to arrive) February. Cara |
