Dear Moms, Dads, Relatives, Educators and Business Owners The kids have eaten half way through the advent calendars (actually, the little ones have opened all the windows and eaten all the chocolates already), the shops are getting busy, the school runs a little quieter for those still going to school this week, little voices are sweetly singing the Christmas carols they know, humming the tunes of those they don't remember the words for and repetitively belting out only the chorus of others. For example, "O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree." I tease my daughter about singing, "Half the Herald Angels Sing." "Angel Pie, why are only half of them singing? What are the other half doing?" The excitement building up in the children is evident in the questions that keep coming. How many days left until Christmas? When can we get a Christmas tree? Can we make Christmas decorations today? When are the big holidays? Is Santa for real? How exactly do his reindeer fly when they don't have wings? How do they get around the whole world in one night and how do they fit all the toys in one sleigh? How does Santa get into our house when we don't have a chimney? Are you keeping your answers consistent? Are you dodging the questions completely or are you getting the kids to answer their own questions, which can be quite fun. I listened to a conversation in the car the other day which I will remember forever. My son told my daughter, "Jesus is 10 000 years old." "No, he is not," said my daughter, he is 100." "Actually, he is exactly 105 at least," my nephew told them both confidently. May your festive season be filled with many precious moments such as these and a whole load of unconditional kisses, cuddles, love and laughter that take away the stresses and strains of the year that has passed and recharge your batteries for the New Year. Wishing you a safe and happy December. P.S. We have added more specials to our Xmas Deals and more holiday events
