Dear Moms, Dads, Relatives, Educators and Business Owners!
Nobody told me that when you have kids you get to do school all over again. There should be a warning label on the front of every parenting book! The last week of the term felt like I have spent more time at my children's schools than at the office. The great thing though is you get to experience school holidays too! The best part of school was not having to go in the holidays.
Even though I am still at work, this week has felt like a holiday. We have got out of bed an hour later, there is no nagging to eat breakfast, brush teeth and pack bags. There is no last minute panic when I suddenly remember I haven't checked a message book and lo and behold we have to send something or other to school. I am getting to work with a smile on my face without feeling stressed and harassed!
So here is a big "hooray for the holidays", when you get a break from routine, deadlines and boring stuff and you get to live life like it should be. May you spend your holidays doing lots of fun things with your families, whether it may be chilling out at home in the garden or getting out and about to museums, parks and zoos.
May you have lots of warm, sunny days filled with lots of outdoor activities. My husband has sent out a protest email about the weather and it seems to be working as we have seen the sun for 4 out of 5 days this week. "See Rich, those protest emails aren't so pointless after all!"
This is our last newsletter for the year because I am in a holiday mood and we all need a break after a very hectic year in the office. Thank you to all our readers, our advertisers and to my staff for all the support for 2008. I wish you all a safe, happy and stress free festive season.

P.S. The picture above has been sent in by Charmaine (KOZ - Kids Outings) who doesn't wait for the holidays to have fun outings with the kids. She organises informal get togethers with parents in Durban and surrounds and notifies interested parents through the Kidzworld web site on our events calendar. This picture is taken at the beach by the Sun Coast. Thanks Charmaine. |
