Dear Moms, Dads, Relatives, Educators and Business Owners!
Last month I purchased a pair of white pants. This is of significant importance to me as a mother as it means my children are finally of the age where it is fairly safe to wear white pants around them. Now I just have to dodge the dog.
All you moms with tiny babies, don't get despondent, there is hope. You may not be able to get around to having a bath or shower before midday, if at all, but one day you too shall wear white pants again. There is more. You will wash and blow-dry your hair and even put on make up everyday again. You may even get to paint your toe nails too! Yes, it is true. You may also one day get to remember exactly what you did that day (the days will be few and far between, but it will happen) and get this, you will even get to a point when you can actually concentrate on and understand an entire conversation. Hooray!
When you are having a bad day with baby or toddler, just remember that one day, before you know it, you will realise that your youngest is no longer a toddler and that you have regained your style and even located your lost mind.
Dads, the good news for you is that your wife will eventually acknowledge your existence in the bedroom. But trust me, this is not something you want to rush. Getting your love life back on track too soon can result in siblings with a very close age gap and then you have very little hope of your wife doing anything in the bedroom other than passing out on the bed exhausted.
Parents in Durban, don’t forget to visit the Baba Indaba this weekend where you can find all sorts of intriguing products to make life with little ones a bit easier. Since the recent change of season, the cold icy winds blew in a bunch of new bugs to turn our already hectic lives upside down. I recently received an email with a picture of a child whose face, from her nose down, was covered in mucus from an almighty sneeze. It is too disgusting to show in the newsletter. I thought it pretty much summed up the start of Winter. Are your children’s noses consistently glazed? If so, read Dr Leanne Scott's article on boosting their immune system!!
Have a wonderful long weekend and stock up on lots of fresh fruit and vegetables and clever tricks to get the children to eat them!
