Hello readers Are you crazy busy or organised busy or a bit of both? When my kids were both under two, I spent most days feeding them and changing their nappies. In one end and out the other, with little time for anything else. My memory of that year of my life is a blur. I do remember thinking at the time that my life was hectic. I used to tell myself, "Once they are at school I will have a bit more time on my hands to get organised". Wrong. Once your kids get to school life gets more hectic. The schools are really good at ensuring the parents get just as much homework as the kids. Instead of changing nappies, there are extra murals, projects, helping with homework, school functions, cake sales, fundraising, psychologists, therapists, extra lessons, as well as school friend play dates and parties. If you are a working mom, you have fit in a days work too. Keep those stress levels down by fine tuning your organisational skills or learn on the job as I did. I was never very good at planning and organising until my kids started school. I went from never owning a diary to having a family calendar, a digital family calendar, a personal diary and a digital work diary as well as a lot of lists. Lists for grocery shopping, lists for a day out with the family and what to pack for a holiday, birthday lists, work lists, lists made from lists. Now my days are more organised busy and a bit less crazy busy. This year I even intend to get through November without forgetting or double booking something. If you have kids at school, you too will understand how busy November can be. If you don't, start working on those organisational skills now. Here are 10 tips to help you get organised brought to you by Alison Deary, author of M.O.M. Diary. Alison is mother to 4 boys and has had 17 years of school, sarmies, homework, exams, committees, play dates, sports, etc. In this issue we also have three interesting articles written by health professionals, an occupational therapist, a lactation consultant and a doctor. They are all worth taking the time to read. We also have two great competitions, lots of special offers plus 15 new directory listings detailed below. Enjoy!
