Hello readers For my son’s birthday last year we took a few kids tenpin bowling and there was very little for me to do at the party. Well, other than to ensure the kids didn’t drop a bowling ball on a toe or go rolling down the alley still attached to the ball! Some came very close to it! This year my son insisted on a party at home. He had his heart set on a Mad Scientist Party where all the kids dress up as mad scientists and do science experiments. So, being the pushover I am, I put any spare time and energy into his science party. It was a great success and I had loads of compliments from the parents who attended the party. I have also had a lot of requests from friends overseas for ideas on what to do for a science party. I have now written Ideas for a Mad Scientist Party and included some pictures for any parents interested in getting messy doing some easy science experiments and generally having loads of fun! At the end of the day after some serious tidying up I finally had a chance to sit down and give my back and feet a rest before they went on strike. I said to my son, “I need a couple of years to recover from this party. How about next year you take the money in lieu of a party?” “No mom,” he replies, “next year I would like a Mythbusters Party and I want to blow something up!” Oh dear, I had better warn the neighbours! For anything and everything to do with parties on our web site visit our Kids party Directory. If you would like to share any party tips or ideas and photos with other parents please load them up on to our Parent Hub blogs page.
