Dear Moms, Dads, Relatives, Educators and Business Owners Have you booked a family holiday for the June/July winter holidays? If you have, then right now you and your family will be enjoying the pre holiday experience. 3 weeks before your family holiday:
This is a great time for family bonding and an ideal learning opportunity. The kids are happy, excited and open to learning about a mode of travel and destination that is relevant to them. Take out the map books, destination guides, brochures and snuggle up together in the evenings before bed to make this time as memorable as the holiday itself. If you are staying home for the winter holidays, here are links to resources such as au pair agencies, holiday camps and workshops, family events and getting out. Welcome to Hannah Kaye, Nutritional Therapist who has kindly agreed to answer two questions per week from parents. Her clinics in Johannesburg and Cape Town focus primarily on child health, specifically depression, anxiety, ADD, ADHD and Autism. Dietary manipulation or restriction as well as therapeutic supplementation are critical elements of her intervention programs. I have found her Facebook posts and articles very interesting. According to Hannah, "The difference between a child who is simply fed daily and one who is optimally nourished is immeasurable. Mental alertness, sound sleep, boundless energy without hyperactivity, and a virtual absence of illness are the norm in children who are receiving the nutrition they need to blossom."
