10 reasons for keeping dads around: (besides to take out the trash and remove geckos and bugs from the house)

• Children don't want to go to bed at the exact same time every night.
• Their deep bellowing voices command the kids' attention when they are completely ignoring mom.
• For the good cop bad cop moments in parenting.
• For wrestling with, tickling and swinging the kids around.
• To push the kids around in the wheelbarrow and act as a diving platform in the swimming pool.
• To deal with icky stuff like burying pets and putting wiggling worms on fishing hooks.
• He can't say no when the kids ask for syrup on toast or ice cream for breakfast.
• For their sports knowledge (who was the fastest, who batted the most, who scored the first etc).
• He has broad shoulders with room for everyone to have a cry on.
• To blame the naughty genes on.
