My two daughters (7+ and 10+) recently had the opportunity to test a micro scooter. They were at first unsure about the ball and stick handle but eventually got the knack of the lean and tilt steering method.
Up and down our passage they scooted with our two Jack Russells yapping excitedly behind them. The girls even tackled scooting down our rather uneven driveway – and wow! Uneven terrain is no problem for the micro scooter!
The micro scooter is well balanced with two wheels in front and two wheels at the back (placed closely together and looks like one wheel) with an easy ‘step on brake’ over the back wheels.
The girls were eventually doing ‘tricks’ like crouching down while scooting, balancing on one leg like ballerinas and even ‘jumping’ over small obstacles!!!
According to the micro scooter website, these scooters help children to develop their critical motor skills and teach them to use body weight and balance to steer. micro scooter also develops core strength and encourages active fun and mobility.
The scooter is light weight which makes it very portable and they apparently come apart in two pieces for easy transport or storage – I have not been able to get near it to try and dismantle it!
We have a very definite request from both girls to purchase the micro scooters for them and I can already see that these sporty ‘toys’ would be used daily so would be a good investment.
Be warned – one is not enough to share – I had to resort to a timer to keep the calm in our home..!
mico scooters get a thumbs up from my daughters, from dad and myself.
Oh yes... Cara & Sheryl’s kids also got to test the mico scooter and there is a resounding – yes.. it’s brilliant – kids have great fun with it – never leave it alone etc etc..
micro scooter have a whole range of scooters suitable from toddlers to adults with either handles or ball and stick steering - so the whole family can get active this Christmas.
