Adventure Phonics Games and Master English will run as extra mural activities in schools and selected venues in the North of Johannesburg. It is a sequence of 8 step-by-step interactive card & board games, supported by charts, books and more and has a variety of games to keep your child entertained and stimulated while enjoying the experiences incidental learning.

They learn the sounds of the letters, the blending of sounds, how to spell, they can even start constructing simple sentences. Children learn without even realising it because the games are so fun. All sessions incorporate the learning areas of language, communication, counting, creative problem solving, concentration and perseverance and teamwork. In a pilot at the Kings College in Bryanston, 12 Grade R learners were able to read three to four letter words after just 20 hours.

Master English is our programme for learners aged 7 – 16 years old or who are in Grades 3 to Grade 9.It is for those learners who have grasped the basic rules of English – and who want to build on their skills. Master English is a sequence of 16 step-by-step interactive card & board games, and includes reference material & comprehension games. The rules of English spelling are carefully worked into each game so that you are learning without even realising that this is taking place.

Our Master English learners are eligible to participate in our annual Spelling Bee Competition. Its goal is educational: not only to encourage children to perfect their vocabularies but to enlarge their vocabularies and widen their knowledge of the English Language.

Our Spelling Champion will win R50 000 cash, 2nd Prize is R20 000 and 3rd prize is R10 000. Semi Finals will be held in October and finals in November 2012. The competition launches date to be announced soon.

Open Day @ The Brain Food Company

On the 28 January 2012 from 8h30 till 13h30 parents are welcome to bring their kids to attend our open day in Fourways at Marmalade Venue Hire. We are giving away a holiday in Durban at The De Bouirs to one lucky person just for attending our open day. There is also a prize for parents who register their kids. The lucky parent will win a prize of a holiday away anywhere in South Africa for you and your family! Keep your receipt number as it will be used for the draw on the day.

There will be lots of entertainment for kids, demonstrations to parents, questions and answers session with speech therapist and educators. We will also play the video clip of the kids during the pilot sessions from Day 1 to the last day.
