Tiny Tumbles is a “Mommy and Me” baby, toddler and pre school gymnastics and movement education program that assists with:
- Building self esteem and confidence
- Enhancing Gross and fine motor, Social, emotional, and creative development,
- Providing interactive skill ideas to parents, enhancing parent to child bonding,
- Interacting with other babies of the same age
- Getting to know other moms that are experiencing similar emotions and questions,
- Muscle tone development, creating excitement about physical activity from a very young age, giving that obesity amongst children is becoming a global concern.
- As Outside play is very limited, it has become a necessity for children to take part in extra mural activities such as Tiny Tumbles
Every class is unique and has its own theme. Different equipment is used each week so the children benefit from a wide variety of movement education. The class starts off with music and movement. Then a very important warm-up follows. When all the muscles are loose and ready, we move onto floor exercises like jumping and tumbling. Here we also use equipment like bean bags, ropes etc. to aid development. After the fun workout on mats is concluded, we move onto the week’s equipment. We have many different types of colourful, fun baby gymnastics equipment that not only helps to develop Gymnastics skills, but also aids with normal child development and movement milestones
Our classes include Gymnastics, ball skills, yoga, painting, music and dancing, messy play, and more.
Mommy and Baby
If our babies can get a workout why can’t the mommies get one as well? We offer classes for mommies and babies from only 8 weeks old. This is great way for mommies to socialize share stories and experiences with other mommies while getting back into shape and feeling good about themselves.
Come on mommies bring your new born angels and join us for a great way to get back into shape.
We have a mommy and baby fitness program where mommies with babies from 2 to 12 months do a workout with baby using baby as weights. After the mommies lesson is done we do a stimulation lesson with baby where we work on helping baby feel safe, comfortable and secure in their environment. We teach them about cause and effect, learning about the world around them and discovering new movement abilities like crawling, climbing hanging and swinging. .
Classes include a 45 minute workout for mommy and baby stimulation ideas that mommy or daddy can also practice at home.
Baby Tumblers
The babies from 12 to 18 months join our Baby tumblers group where they learn about basic movement skills. We encourage communication through gestures and taking turns. Social skills and Exploration is very important.
Fine and Gross motor development is emphasized through beginner gymnastics skills. Come and share in the excitement as the toddlers begin to learn how to move their bodies in different ways as they are introduced to a variety of new and stimulating experiences.
Terrific Tumblers
Toddlers from 18 months to 3 and a half years join our Terrific tumblers group. In this group we start off with basic gymnastics and movement working with Gymnastic equipment. They learn about motor planning and through this, learn about problem solving. Fine and gross motor coordination and manipulative skills are developed through imaginative games.
Listening and comprehension skills improve as we increase structure and add more difficult gymnastics and tumbling. Parental involvement is gradually decreased.
Jumbo Tumblers
Pre school children from 3 and a half years to 6 years join our Jumbo Tumblers group. Relays, complicated games and more advanced gymnastics lead to improved strength, flexibility, manipulative skills, hand-eye coordination and a great self esteem. They take part in group activities that encourage verbal communication, following instructions and team work. Through this they learn respect and social skills are reinforced.
We also teach the children sequencing of routines and do even more complicated exercises as their abilities increase. The children learn about team work as well as individual activities. The fun never stops.
W hy GYMNASTICS?
Gymnastics is one of the most versatile sports in the world. The Gymnastics curriculum offers children a multitude of life enhancing benefits and will prepare them for a lifetime of success. While they are building motor skills, they will also show improvement in social and intellectual skills. The children will increase flexibility, balance and rhythm, and consequently improve self-esteem, and confidence. Listening skills, attention span and the ability to follow directions will improve. Finally, they will become more confident, more willing to take risks, and challenge themselves in ways they never have before. |
