We provide a personalised service to busy families in need of au pairs. We help to determine what the needs of the family are and find possible suitable candidates.
Each candidate has a personal interview with ChildMatters. We follow up on references and should they be selected by a family, we train them before their starting date. We will ensure that the integration of the au pair with the family goes smoothly by staying in touch and offering continuous support.
We strive to supply you with an au pair that you have confidence in to look after your special children. We aim to build lasting relationships with both the families and the au pairs.
What you can expect from hiring an au pair:
When hiring an au pair you are focusing your attention on your children’s needs in the safety and privacy of your own home. You can expect an au pair to follow the parenting style you are wanting for your children, to respect how you want to raise your children and report back to you on a daily basis. They are there to keep your children safe, maintain discipline and respect at all times.
You can expect an au pair to take care of the necessary tasks and chores, allowing you to spend quality time with your happy, healthy and secure children. An au pair must never take the role of the parents. ChildMatters encourages open communication, meaning that at all times you should be in the know regarding your children.
Typical au pair duties:
- Taking care of your children
- Keeping children’s rooms and play areas neat
- Punctually dropping and collecting children at school and activities
- Preparing children’s meals
- Assisting with homework, assignments and age appropriate educational stimulation
- Making sure their school bags or outing bags are packed
- Educationally entertaining your children, taking them on outings and activities
- Liaising with teachers, doctors or coaches on your behalf
- Teaching your children manners, etiquette and giving general advice
- Ensuring hygiene
Au pairs training:
It is compulsory that all au pairs placed through ChildMatters attend training. However, training is also available to au pairs and families not making use of the placement process ChildMatters offers.
